14th European Individual Women`s Chess Championship officially closed
The closing ceremony of European Individual Women's Chess Championship was held last night in „Nikola Tesla“ hall of hotel Metropol Palace in Belgrade.
Ms. Sava Stoisavljevic, the Chief Arbiter of the Championship, declared the winners. The trophies for the winners were awarded by Mr. Dejan Vasovic, Deputy of Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Miodrag Vukotic, President of Serbian Chess Federation, and Ms. Alisa Maric, Minister of Sport and Youth of Republic of Serbia and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of the Championship.
After the anthem of Hungary, Alisa Maric declared the Championship officially closed.
Apart from Alisa Maric, the guests were welcomed by Mr. Vladimir Sakotic, who addressed to all the present on behalf of the European Chess Union.
„At the very end of this competition, it seems that the feeling of satisfaction is surpassing the feeling of fatigue, because I believe that the efforts made in the previous period have been visible. We have tried to organise the championship which will be remembered at least for some details and special characteristics. Your assessment, after this tournament, will tell us how much we have succeeded in this.” said Mr. Sakotic. He thanked all the people who helped in the organization of the tournament and expressed his special thanks to Ministry of Sport and Youth of Republic of Serbia and Minister Alisa Maric.
Sonja Kalaic's quartet was responsible for the music programme and the pleasant atmosphere.
