Hoang Trang - Master of endgames

Today, our Guest of the day was GM Hoang Trang, who defeated Valentina Gunina with black, and took the sole lead in the tournament. After sharing some impressions about the game, she answered a few questions.

Trang, we have noticed that you played a few endgames in the tournamet, and you showed quite an understanding and good techniques. Is it just a coincidence, or you enjoy playing endgames?

I enjoy playing endgames and I feel very comfortable.

With this win, you are in sole lead in the tournament. How does this make you feel?
Hoang Trang
The tournament is very tough, and there are still few more rounds to go. So I think until the last move in the last round is played, nothing is clear.

It seems you used the rest day well, to rest and relax.
Hoang Trang
Yes, I went to the swimming pool in the hotel, and it was very nice. I had some rest, and I am ready to play the remaining games.

I guess this is your first time in Serbia and Belgrade. How do you like it and did you get some time to explore it?
Hoang Trang
Yes, this is my first time, and I really like it. I am walking every night after dinner with my father, and what I have seen so far, it's really beautiful. I like the people here, they are very kind.

What do you think about the organization of the tournament, and the playing conditions?
Hoang Trang
Everything is lovely. Hotel is nice and staff is wonderful. I just enjoy the tournament.
