Jovana Eric: "It's a pleasure to play in such a high level tournament."
We spoke to Jovana Eric, young Serbian Woman International Master, who drew in the 6th round with former double Women's European Champion, Grandmaster Tatiana Kosintseva.
Nadezda Stojanovic:
Jovana, can you tell us your impressions about the game?
Jovna Eric:
The game was quite militant. We played Sicilian defense, and the game went into some sharp stream. She sacrificed a queen for two rooks and a pawn, and afterwards, we played probably around 15 moves in the time trouble, so maybe I could have played better in some way. But I was not even sure if I was better or not. It was quite complicated. Eventually we agreed for a draw.
Anyway, I can't wait to analyse the game, to check what all possibilities we had.

One can say you recovered from the bad start?
J.E.
Yes, even though I played well, the result was not good. In the first round I lost to Khotenashvili, then drew with Kazimova, and again lost to Croatian Kruljac. But with two wins in the 4th and 5th round, and today's draw, I feel I am back in the game. Although I am not aiming to the top, I just want to play well and give my best.
N.S.
How do you feel playing this top tournament, in your country?
J.E.
I feel very good. And I also feel I am playing well, considering that I haven't played chess for couple of months, because of my exams and commitments to the studies. So even though I didn't have much time to prepare properly, I hope I will show some good games here.
N.S.
What do you think about the organization of this year's edition of the Championship?
J.E.
It is great. Even though I am not staying in the hotel, I got the chance to see how it is, and it is really wonderful. The playing hall is superb, there is Live commentary, lots of interviews, news and it seems all people from the organization are doing a very good job. So tournament is organized at the very high level.
N.S.
Jovana, thank you, and I wish you good luck in the remaining games.
