First registrations for the Championship have been received from Italy and the Netherlands, while the Georgian Chess Federation registered 7 participants mentioning that this is probably not the final number. The best rating for now has Nana Dzagnidze.

At the first meeting of the Organising Committee, a decision, which will particularly distinguish the European Individual Women’s Chess Championship, was made. Namely, it was decided that all the important positions at the Championship (president of the Organising Committee, tournament director, arbiters, Appeals Committee, including even security) will be occupied by women!
This will make the Championship very special and different from the others and, therefore, we hope that it will draw a great deal of attention of not only ancient game fans.
